They don't give concealed/carry permits to the public. They give out one a year, but it's always to a super star, politician or someone along those lines - and even then, you basically have to have someone ready and willing to kill you at any moment to be allowed to get a permit. In fact, in San Francisco, a law was voted in that outlawed owning a handgun within City limits!!! That was overturned, but still - that should give you some insight into CA's attitude on weapons. Some people tend to forget that guns on their own aren't the problem - it's the people that have them and use them illegally that are the problem. But that's a conversation for another platform!
